Hello, I’m Lorena, a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers. Having grown up in the Airdrie and Calgary area, I’m proud to call Alberta’s Wildrose Country my home. I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Calgary in 2024 and bring many years of experience working in the domestic violence field to my practice.
I am deeply passionate about a whole-self approach to wellness, where I integrate mental, physical, and emotional health to support lasting change. My work focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship and fostering a meaningful connection with my clients.
I specialize in working with individual adults and teens, addressing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, chronic illness and pain, ADHD, trauma and body image or eating concerns. My goal is to empower clients to take charge of their well-being, nurturing self-awareness, balance, and growth.
With a client-centred, humanistic philosophy, I tailor my approach using evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I adapt to the unique needs of each client to help them achieve their goals and build agency in their lives.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, including my two miniature dachshunds, Nala and Winnie. I’m also an avid reader, especially of non-fiction on topics like health, culture, and history, as well as classic literature. I find joy in lifelong learning and exploring new ideas.
If you're ready to take the first step towards a healthier, more balanced life, I’d love to support you on your journey. Let’s connect to see if we’re the right fit for each other.
